Tawny owls are heard far more often than they are seen — that low, resonant call carrying through the dark of an English wood is one of the sounds I grew up with. Getting close enough to photograph one properly in the right light takes time and a degree of luck. This portrait captures the bird in full detail, the rich brown patterning of the plumage and those deep, dark eyes. I wanted an image that shows why these birds have fascinated people for centuries. Printed at museum quality on fine art, matte, or semi-glossy paper, the intricate feather markings carry beautifully to any print size. A nature photography print rooted in the English countryside. Available in three finishes.
