Red kites were extinct in England within living memory. The recovery programme that brought them back to the Chilterns and Oxfordshire is one of the great UK conservation success stories, and photographing them close to home carries a weight of that history for me. This image catches a kite against a white winter sky, the forked tail and the warm rust-red of the wings in full view. Snow days produce a clarity and contrast that other light rarely gives. Printed at museum quality on fine art, matte, or semi-glossy paper, the colours and wingspan read powerfully at every size. A wildlife photography print with a story behind it. Available in three finishes.
